2009 Graduation

I can't believe Trent's graduation came and went so fast. We enjoyed every minute of it. First, the morning of graduation I was feeling a little guilty that I was not needing to buy him something to wear that night like you would if you were a girl, so I asked him if he wanted to buy a new tie and go out for lunch. We found a red tie then went to eat at In-and-Out for lunch with Tyra. Then we ran home and got ready for the big night. Trent met at a friend's home (BreAnna) to get a ride to the arena with her in a towne car, the school wanted the grads to meet an hour early to give them time to say goodbye to each other and get in their lines. We were able to get great seats. We are so proud of him. After the graduation we had a dinner for all our family at our house, by 9 p.m. the family was gone and the teenagers started to show up. The party lasted until 8:15 a.m. the next day, when we told them it was time for us to go to work every one out! I think Trent had a GREAT night. Trent may not have been the top student of his class but he was and has been a good young man. His high school years were full of good fun, he enjoyed many activities in school, he played on the baseball, soccer and golf teams. He was the President of his seminary class, dated the valedictorian, took the prom queen and student body president to prom, talked his way out of missing assignments and became friends with as many people as he could. Now he will take a few classes and work to put money away for his mission. I just have to say it is hard to believe that one of our kids has graduated, it just doesn't seem like its time for this big change in our life yet.
